What we’ve done here on this page is condense some of the information presented by the CDC. We don’t claim to be health experts, but simply providers of disinfection services using methods provided by the CDC using EPA approved disinfectants. Continue to respect social distancing and wash your hands as a part of a unified approach to beating this pandemic and regaining normalcy.
How does a virus spread?
According to the CDC, any virus spreads from person-to-person through water droplets in the air from an infected person’s cough or sneeze. It’s possible viruses can live on surfaces for an extended period of time as well and while there isn’t much information on how long it can last on surfaces or in the air, the CDC recommends cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and the air.
Cleaning & Disinfecting
These guidelines are pulled directly from cdc.gov and are meant for the general public.
- Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.
- Disinfecting refers to using chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.
How our process works:
Following the instructions by the health officials, we’re combining both cleaning and disinfecting into one unified approach. Carpet, tile, and upholstery cleaning using our truck mounted steam cleaner is one of the most effective ways to clean. We use a disinfectant that runs through boiling steam temperatures and it removes germs and dirt through a powerful vacuum. This process can be applied to all hard surface floors, furniture, mattresses, and any type of carpet. We’ll also wipe down all of the touch points, tables, cabinets, counters, and door handles. On top of all that, we’ll use an EPA approved disinfectant applied through a fogging unit which completely destroys any airborne viruses.
What is an EPA-registered disinfectant?
It’s a chemical or solution that has research proven attributes to destroy viruses, bacteria, or mold. In our disinfection service we use an all natural EPA-registered disinfectant that is safe for an occupied space.
